Oh good.
That works.
Photo problem sorted, for now.
That's the front verandah of our villa.
Built in 1911.
Had her 100th birthday last year.
The Grand Old Lady.
She's had a hard life.
Someone in the 1960's decided she needed updating, cheaply.
Big mistake.
Ceilings were lowered.
Casement windows were installed instead of sashes.
Period features were done away with.
A double chimney and fireplaces were removed and boarded up.
"Modern" materials were used.
Oh, woe!
Non-gardeners moved in.
Lavenders were planted in the shade.
Hellebores were planted in full sun.
Everything was left unpruned and unplanned.
Then she sat for a year - unlived-in.
Sad.
Wisteria tried to engulf her.
Ivy took what was left.
Then we came along.
And we loved her.
